In the quest for eternal youth and the battle against aging, visionary entrepreneur Bryan Johnson has emerged as a pioneer. Known for his relentless pursuit of innovative solutions to some of humanity's most significant challenges, Johnson has recently made headlines with his intense anti-aging treatment that he says has slowed down the aging of his body.

At the core of Bryan Johnson’s anti-aging treatment is an understanding of the biological processes that control our bodies. Through strict monitoring of organs and the manipulation of genes, utilization of stem cell therapies and epigenetic modulation Bryan Johnson’s hopes to reverse the effect of aging.

Johnson starts his day at 5 a.m where he drinks a smoothie named the ‘Green Giant’ which contains compounds such as collagen peptides. Along with this he also takes over 100 pills throughout the day. The idea is that these supplements can replace molecules the body cannot make. After that he begins his hour long regimented workout and after that he eats his first meal of the day. Which contains so-called “super veggie” such as black lentils and mushrooms. The next 2 meals are similarly healthy and contain exclusively plants. All in all Johnson only intakes 1977 calories a day.

Finally, at the end of the day Johnson wears goggles that block out blue light in an attempt to get better sleep. This is because there is some evidence that blue light can disrupt our bodies circadian rhythms.

Along with this, Johnson also undergoes a number of “therapies” everyday in order to slow aging’s deterioration of his body and help increase organ function. Along with this Johnson’s organs are constantly measured with regular blood tests, MRIs and colonoscopies.

All in all this entire routine is extremely intensive, but does it really have the anti-aging properties that Bryan Johnson says it has. So let's start with each part of his daily routine.

As previously stated Bryan Johnson starts his day off with a smoothie with many important vitamins and nearly 100 supplements. And while some of these supplements have actually been shown to increase the span of healthy aging the vast majority such as lithium pills have little to no evidence to support it.

However, before we go on, let's make the distinction between healthy aging and age reversal. While many may tout Bryan Johnson’s routine as an age reversal technique, what it is actually doing is increasing his healthy life span. This means that he can live up to death in much better health than the average person. Unfortunately, a true age reversal technique is impossible due to multiple factors in our body such as our telomere count which cap our lifespan to just about 115 years.

Going on, both healthy exercise and diet have been clinically proven on multiple accounts to increase a person's healthy lifespan. However, these types of diets must be done in moderation. Anti-aging diets are often extreme and if not done properly can have extremely damaging effects on the body. For example, at one point Johnson’s body fat dropped under 3% which actually put him at increased risk of heart disease.

Next, is his “therapies”. And this is where the cracks in Johnson’s routine really start to show. Nearly all of the therapies Johnson does have little to no evidence to support the existence of any actual benefit to the body. For example, at one point Johnson injected fat into his face in order to try to build young person fat cells in his face. Therapies such as these are extremely experimental and there seems to actually be very little benefit to them. Not only this, but this amount of medical intervention just isn’t practical for anyone that isn’t a centimillionaire like Johnson.

Overall, while certain aspects of Johnson’s may help contribute to his longevity such as his healthy diet and lifestyle there is still much experimentation and refining to be done before techniques like his can reach the commercial market.
